Yoad Nevo is a multi-Platinum producer and mixing/mastering engineer who has worked with the likes of Pet Shop Boys, Ed Sheeran, Sia, and Moby. He's also applied his studio expertise to the development of music production software, including industry standard and Grammy-winning plug-ins by Waves Audio. During the making of Bitwig Studio 5.2, we tapped Nevo to lend insight — and useful presets — to Bitwig Studio 5.2's hardware-inspired EQs, Focus and Sculpt, as well as for our high-end compressor, Compressor+.

"There are many different types of compressors, and sometimes you want a specific sound, or there's a preset that you like. I've been involved in the making of many analog modeling as well as digital compressors, and given enough time with Compressor+, I think it can replace most of these compressors, because it's so versatile and you can get a lot done with it. It has many of the features that you'll find in other compressors, but it's very simple to use. It has nice harmonic distortion, which makes it warm. And you can sculpt the attack and release easily.
"Compressor+ combines features from different types of compressors from analog and digital worlds. It packs them into a one-stop shop where you can dial everything quickly and flick between different types of harmonic distortion or envelope behaviors. You can use the excellent presets or very quickly dial in the tones you need."
