London-based Solomon Rose, aka. Silkie, is an English DJ and Producer, and one of the pioneers in the global dubstep scene.
Having grown up in Hammersmith, West London, Solomon’s career started in the early 2000s initially producing UK garage and grime. From there he naturally transitioned to producing his own unique jazz-influenced dubstep style and came together with artists Quest, Harry Craze, Razor Rekta, Jay 5ive and later on Mizz Beats to found Antisocial Entertainment. Since then he has released four albums, various EPs and singles on labels such as Antisocial Records, Deep Medi, Skream’s Disfigured Dubz and Soul Jazz. He has toured around the world sharing his music at events and festivals such as Outlook, Fabriclive, Eastern Electrics and Subdub across Europe, South America, USA, Japan and New Zealand.
Over the years Solomon has contributed to various workshops across the world sharing advice about his creative workflow, production insights and tips for rising producers. In 2023, Solomon decided to formally transform his knowledge and experience into creating Antisocial Audio – a music production education platform that focuses on encouraging self-expression through bass music. Solomon provides virtual one-on-one personalised classes as well as workshops and useful content in music theory, sound design, arranging, mixing and mastering using Bitwig Studio for producers of all levels.
