Bitwig EQs: All-in-One and One for All

Bitwig Studio's seven stock equalizers provide general and special-purpose tools for any need, from mixing and mastering to tweaking and sound-designing.

Top-Notch Parametric EQs

Four options — EQ+, EQ‑5, EQ‑2, and EQ‑DJ — put you in control of the frequency spectrum with freely assignable bands and color-coded graphical interfaces.

EQ+ and its simplified siblings (EQ‑2 and EQ‑5) connect sound with visuals with a rainbow EQ curve and a spectrum analyzer that displays both the incoming and outgoing signals. Optimized for high efficiency, these equalizers allow you to change the frequency, gain, Q, or mode of their bands with simple mouse gestures.

Bitwig-BWS3-2_EQ-Plus

EQ+ is a highly flexible graphical equalizer with freely assignable bands. Add up to 8 bands with 14 selectable filter types per band, including cuts, shelves, bells, and notches of different varieties. It features an Expanded Device View mode that allows you to work in full screen, range selection, and clever mouse gestures for easily swapping filter types and auto-soloing individual bands.

Beyond that, detailed settings for the spectrum analyzer help you dial in the right view settings for your material. Use the option to show a Reference track in the spectrum analyzer to identify potential clashes and overpopulation of parts in the frequency spectrum from other tracks in your project.

Bitwig Studio EQ-5

EQ-5 makes available five bands with options for Bell, Shelf, Notch, and 2- or 4-pole high/low-pass modes, plus global settings for scaling the gain or shifting the frequency of all five bands simultaneously and basic options for the spectrum display.

Bitwig Studio EQ-2

EQ-2 is a two-band equalizer with options for Bell, Shelf, and 2- or 4-pole high/low-pass modes. This is a simple equalizer perfect for simple tasks.

Bitwig Studio EQ-DJ

EQ-DJ brings a DJ workflow to your DAW by providing low, mid, and high bands with definable crossover frequencies and kill switches.

Beloved Hardware EQ Designs with Modern Extras

A trio of EQs inspired by classic hardware – Sculpt, Focus, and Tilt — bring a natural musicality to the task of shaping sound.

Bitwig-Studio_BWS5-2_Sculpt

Sculpt inherited the controls and components of the renowned Pultec EQP-1, a vintage broadband hardware box known for its low-end sweetening. But the choice of saturation is left to you, from the matching Tube style, to Transistor for odd harmonics and mid-range punch, or even a clinically Clean model.

Bitwig-Studio_BWS5-2_Focus

Focus took the same approach to recreating the choices and components of the mid-range-oriented MEQ-5. After tuning those sonic “power” regions, similar saturation choices are a click away.

Bitwig-Studio_BWS5-2_Tilt

Tilt's simple interface lets you rebalance any sound to be brighter or darker, with additional choices for the center Frequency and how steep the Slope is. By twisting its main Gain control, you can boost all the frequencies above a set point and cut the frequencies below it – or vice versa).

All three bring modern niceties as well. A Stereo-ize control transforms any device into a pair so that you can emphasize the left versus right (or, yes, mid versus side). And Bitwig's visual displays show you exactly what you're doing, both on the device panels and in the mixer. When reliable blueprints meet contemporary amenities, making good sound design choices is easy.
