Deconstructing "Hey Now," Chee's v5 Demo Song

The latest demo song released with version 5, "Hey Now," shows you what goes into one of Chee's bass music tracks — and a new walkthrough video shows you how he made it. The South African producer and DJ breaks down his sound design techniques in a new  video that walks through each part of the project, from custom kick drum patches made in The Grid to dissonant Phase-4 synth voices and Sampler tips.

Some of the patches were included as presets in the version 5 sound package, Freeform, alongside curves for Bitwig's MSEGs, wavetables for the new Wavetable LFO and more. The entire track is available as a project file in Bitwig Studio 5, so you can open it via the Quick Start menu and dig in.
